Hello everyone!
I'm trying to make 2% MC, but after I autoclave the solution the water and the gel phase separate from each other!
What can be done about this?
Can I put it again on stirrer to dissolve fully?
Methylcellulose is only easily soluble in cold water. After cooling you should be able to redissolve fully.
Thanks much Titus!
Before autoclaving perform a preheat in a water bath and then autoclave the homogenous solution.
