I have synthesized barium titanate via co-precipitation method. optimum amount of BaCl2 (Sigma-Aldrich 99.99%), Titanium (IV) Chloride (Sigma-Aldrich 99.99%) and Oxalic acid are liquefied in diH2O, that are homogeneously stirred magnetically. After precipitate formation, the solution is heated to 80°C on a hotplate. The final particles are collected and crushed in a motor-pistol to obtain white BTO powder. XRD results showed triclinic (BaTiO3) matching JCPDS no. 40-0405. We know that generally by literature Barium Titanate shows tetragonal structure. Why and How we have Obtained this triclinic Structure?
