The DNA extraction reagents from the Qiagen DNeasy PowerSoil kit (solutions C1-C6) have had repeated exposure to ten minutes of UV light in the biosafety hood. Will this affect the extraction of DNA from sediment samples?
As much i can see this kit has columns and solutions named C1 to C5 and some of them having ethanol as well. So, as per my knowledge, i don't think UV will be having any effect on the efficiency of these reagents. Still, to avoid doubts and waste of energy u can first try this kit with few samples then if it works fine you can go ahead with more sample.
I suggest that any DNA-related materials/reagents shouldn't be exposed to UV unless absolutely necessary or recommended by the manufacturer. Good luck.
