When we conduct experiments, then we get data, After this data is put into a statistical software for one way annova or two way annova, why?? Why statistical analysis is important in experiments.
Because Statistics is the best and the only way to prove the difference or the results of your experiment.
Because grown ups love numbers. Read the best-selling book "The little prince" http://www.generationterrorists.com/quotes/the_little_prince.html
Because statistics is the best way to lie if you want to lie in your experiment. I beg you not to do so. Else, your paper will be retracted. Read the book by Darrel Huff
When a farmer is growing a variety, he already knows, this variety will give the better results. Similarly, when researchers are conducting experiments, most of them already know that that antibiotic will have certainly more inhibition zone. After getting inhibition zones, then they perform CRD or whatever the statistical design, they wish for. I am surprised, research is itself a major goal but not statistical analysis. Farmers or people are concerned for yield not statistics but I think, statistical analysis is carried out to convince the scientific communities. It is to mathematically indicate, that treatment has much significance than the other treatment. Suppose a researcher get yield 22 and 23, statistics tell there is no any significance difference between the yields 22kg and 23kg of two varieties of maize are equal according to statistical analysis but then researchers see the price , suppose 23 is of 100 rupees and 22 is of 70 rupees, he would prefer 22kg, because it is cheap as compared to 23 as well as both are statistically same.
Statistical analysis is very important in analytical research for searching for determinant/ associated factors factors to your study objective or question that you want to discover. Every thing has its own cause and contributing factors to happen and identifying those factors is an important approach to take interventions against that phenomenon. In most of the time, research become research if put important evidence based recommendations or the way forwards to do some thing either to improve the service or solve the problem.
