I am using DMSO as a negative control in an experiment being performed to measure calcium dynamics through GCaMP (GFP) fluorescence. DMSO is acting as a solvent for my synthetic organic compound supposed to change the calcium dynamics in cells. The problem is that DMSO is showing a considerable fluorescence signal. Based on the suspicion that our lab's DMSO is somehow contaminated, I borrowed some DMSO from a neighboring lab, but it also showed the signal of considerable fluorescence.

How can I solve this problem??
