Whatever you have mentioned is right, but to complete the answer I would like to add a few more important points.

1. HCT-116 cells have a known mutation in codon 13 of the KRAS gene, a common oncogene in CRC. This will allow us as researchers to target specific pathways and understand the impact of this mutation on cancer development and response to therapy.

2. HCT-116 cells are derived from a human colon cancer, making them a relevant model for studying the disease.

3. Because of HCT-116 cells tumorigenic and metastatic potential, they can form tumors and metastasize in vivo. So, they are suitable for studying the metastatic process and evaluating potential therapies targeting metastasis.

4. As you have already mentioned, these cells also display radioresistance and colonosphere forming capacity, both of which are characteristics of cancer stem cells.
