Everyone in his or her own way is a teacher. In other words, teaching reflects our natural inclination to share with others what we know.

Elementary school:

Teaching in an elementary school (which I did part time as a Mathematics teacher for 7th graders while I was in graduate school) is usually done by someone who likes to work with children.

High school:

Teaching in a high school (which I did as a Physics teacher during a gap year between graduate schools) is usually done by some who is very good with students (getting to know them, responding to their needs and idiosyncrasies) and who excels in some subject.

University:

Teaching in a research department at the University level (which I have done after I earned my Ph.D.) is usually done by someone who excels in some research area. I like this level best, since I thrive in an environment in which research is very important.

I am passionate to know and impart to others, my newly discovered knowledge. I am always curious about investigating conditions so as to improve systems and situations. As a result, I found my profession in teaching and research.

Md Zafar, while I believe teaching to be among the noblest of professions, and quite indispensable in today's world, that is not the primary focus of what I do. My profession was chosen only because I love the field, and really no other reason. There was no family history that we knew of, in STEM subject matter, and certainly not in my immediate family. So, no particular urging from my parents or other relatives, or any family role models in this field. My close and not so close relatives are, and were, all into the classics, law, and poli sci.

From the starting of my career I was doing good jobs in famous International organizations with dignified responsibilities but always my ultimate goal was to become a successful teacher especially in university level, to contribute the education sector of my country. If anyone asks me ''why'' ? -Very simple answer from my side : Just for honor for the knowledge and skill development MAINLY out of mainstream students, whose results, performance, financial support is not good.

I am doing this and I am almost satisfied so far I have done....I have to go many more!!

I was influenced by my former professor and mentor to apply for teaching position. Beside, my father was already a role model in teaching. Sharing knowledge, acquiring new knowledge, lab work, young people..., these are some factors for my choosing to be a teacher. It is 39 years now since I have chosen my profession as a teacher.

Because it is the best profession to prepare people and build their future regional become a doctor, engineer, officer, pilot, teacher, professional and so on

People are inspired by a teacher earlier in their education who had a positive impact on them.

A teacher may be seen as:

Since my childhood I was having obsession for becoming a teacher.

The word ‘teaching’ means the work of a teacher to provide knowledge and guidance. It is one of the oldest and noblest services to the society in any culture. But the question arises if teaching is a profession or a duty first. According to The Oxford Dictionary the word ‘profession’ means ‘a paid occupation’ and ‘duty’ means ‘a moral responsibility’. So it’s better to call teaching a duty than a profession

I have always admired the posture, attitudes and work of my teachers since childhood. It was natural, at the same time that I liked to give additional explanations about what I was asked. I think that I was born with this vocation and that is what accomplishes me, at the same time that the activities as a researcher complete the teaching activity.

After 21 years in the factory I seemed to me that I am somehow "stagnant". I went through the admission procedure for a teacher of university, did a doctorate, habilitated and taught and taught - now 26 years :-)

It was (it's) challenging - but beautiful. Practical experience can not be replaced, they were very useful.

I hope that this beauty will last for a year or two still for me.

I think it is the best profession as it serves to build knowledge, character of a young citizen. It is an one kind of happiness when a student gets success in his/her life.

The reason I took teaching as my profession is first ever since I was little I always was teaching people something. Even as a child, I always played school with my friends and I was always the teacher. In addition, I was always fascinated with business and as youung as 8 years old I sold lemon aid, sno cones, etc. In school, I was always excellent in academia and I am blessed by my Lord with an IQ of 148. When I decided on a major in college and university, I chose business, marketing, and management. I obtained a BS in marketing, and an MBA in Management. I tried other positions before teaching and due to my neurological and physical disabilities, I was too limited. In 1993, I started teaching college and in 2004 I started tutoring varying subjects. I have since obtained three other masters and my PhD in Management. I truly love teaching and have a passion for helping students. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and helping them grow and succeed.

I would like to share as regards how I became teacher.I worked in Government at a very senior position when I was quite young. I then switched of to Industry job where I reached to the post of Chief Executive Officer- Green Environment Cooperative Services Society ltd in Vatva Ahmedabad.

In order to pursue my doctorate, I had to join academics- this was pre-requisite.

After a year or so I gained popularity among the students for my teaching.

One day one girl came running , touched mu feet and offered me a chocolate saying " Sir today is my birthday" Seeing the respect that she had for me I determined to be in academics.

Today still I am in academics though the earning comparatively is quite less in academics. I have lot of satisfaction that I am in a noble profession and my raw materials and products both love me and keep me in their hearts What else do we want!!!

Teaching for me like farming and each teacher try to upbringing ( science, education ,discipline ,..) to develop students for better.

I am a teacher by personal choice, but several events of my life as a student, increased my motivation to try to be a better teacher than many of those who intervened, for good or not so much, in my academic development:

• I am a lifelong teacher since I always helped my classmates in their homework from basic education. Once I entered the Bachelor of Medicine (Faculty of Medicine UNAM), I applied to be a professor of the subject "Laboratory Practices" in the subjects of Physics and Chemistry, in Secondary Education. Therefore, I was formally a professor with a position in the Ministry of Public Education (SEP).
• Advanced in the career of Medicine, I could not continue with my teaching job at the SEP, but I joined as a professor assistant in the Histology and Biochemistry practices at my Faculty.
• Finishing the degree in Medicine at the Bachelor's level, I competed to do a specialty (Internal Medicine), so once approved, I entered the Residence (One year of Rotary Residency and 3 years of Specialty) at the Mexican Insurance Institute Social (IMSS) headquarters National Medical Center (CMN).
• During my specialty I continued my teaching preparation by going voluntarily to the Faculty of Medicine and participating in the training of my fellow doctors, students of the specialty. Once I finished my training as a specialist in Internal Medicine, I was invited to participate as a professor in the same specialty and headquarters where I was trained, which obviously I accepted.
• From now on I continued in parallel my training in various fields of medicine (Administration, Management, Information Technology, Research, etc.), but especially in the field of Educational Sciences, studying as a student several diploma courses of teacher training medicine and as a teacher; in other medical education graduates, to date.

I have good predispositions, I taught my classmates a lot and was good at it. On the top of that I have a good feeling from teaching and simply I can’t imagine myself having any other job.

It is/was a satisfying profession for me but I am being made to regret my career choice. What is worse is that academic prejudice and high-tech caste systems are unforgiving to those seeking new career paths after a certain age. Yes, that was blunt.

The assistant principal of my high school was a real inspiration to me, and she is one of the major reasons I pursued a teaching career. Her ability to guide students, her fairness, and her sense of justice made me aspire to bring these things to my own classroom.
