High by? However it's should not be high if you clean well the m.t. plate and no amount of DPPH. Check the lamda max you used. However usually positive control is used with low concentration 2mg usually give good results.

Ascorbic acid is very strong antioxidant (reducing agent) which can effectively reduce DPPH free radical at ug/ml levels.

I suggest you to dilute the stock solution by 10-100X.
