Why do children love balloons?

Children love 🎈 probably due to the "colorful, floating, and bouncing" nature of balloons. I believe balloon translate to them as something fun. In addition, balloons are usually given to children as gifts which gives them a sort of satisfaction. This may also add to their joy in holding on to them and loving them so much.
Balloons are colourful, nice to touch and light in weight and its movement in air.
Balloons have natural buoyant effect with attractive colours therefore interaction with children is good
Balloons are fun for children due to flexible, colorful and easy to move in the air.

As a psychologist, I think that children love ballons for many reasons.
1. Ballons are colorful, and children love colours as is shown by many empirical
sudies.
2. Ballons move in the air. As children are, say, animist creatures in the sense they
attribute "anima" (a Latin word] or mind to everything, ballons go well with
children's animist tendencies and phantasies.
3) Children love to play and ballons are suitable things for children to play with.
The are light in weight, flexible, attractive and the like.
4) Children love to play with their peers and ballons are appropriate to this
purpose.
5) Chidren like to take turns and ballons are wonderful to fulfill this purpose.
6) Children adore to make fun. As we know, it is easy to make fun with ballons.

Children are the most innocent souls on earth. For them, the world is a playground.
Kids get easily attracted to colours, soft notes of music etc. Balloons, being vibrantly coloured, catches their eye. Moreover, the balloon floats in air and this adds to their fascination. This makes balloons an ideal entertainer to kids.
Cartoons and real world experiences inspire a child to own a toy. Children assume the cartoons to be real and so would throw tantrums to get that favourite toy.
It is not true that all children like them.
Many like them because they are cheerful, colorful and ... they fly!!! (there is no need to disturb science).

I do agree that while majority of children enjoy balloons, some may feel frightened from them, perhaps from a previous experience of the unpleasant popping sound if the balloon burst?

Balloons are colourful, flexible and soft. Balloons In a way respond to the touch, and children are able to have fun with them.
One issue to highlight here is that balloons can pose a Chocking hazard for infants and young children !
Kids and babies run towards the houses with balloons out front because they know that something good is going to be inside. Another reason older babies and children love balloons is that the time with a balloon is limited. It's a finite gift to have this thing in their lives, and they know that. It is also fun to play with!
