Dear All,
I have tried to model a fatigue crack propagation in Abaqus. There is an odd problem here, the stress of the crack-tip element had a decreasing behavior instead of increasing. Does anybody know why?
Thanks,
It is due to Eringen's nonlocal elasticity. Stress is distributed to the neighbourhood of the point of impact.
Dear Vikash,
It seems this is not correct for my analysis. So, what should I do to solve this problem?
what stress-strain constitutive equation you are using?
I just use the elastic part of the stress-strain curve, i.e. only Young's modulus. Do I need to include the plastic strains as well?
