A cracked plate (through-thickness crack) is repaired with composite patch and is modeled in Abaqus. Now, I want to model the crack propagation after repair process, but there are some issues related to tie constraint between plate surface and the Adhesive. When I tie all Adhesive and plate nodes on the shared surface to each other using the "tie constraint", there is no propagation, although the propagation criteria are completely met.
I think the problem comes from the "tie" procedure. I tried to remove the nodes on crack direction line from the tie constraint, but still got the same results. Any advice would be appreciated.

However I didnt get the question well, but make sure your adhesive materials define well in the software or check your boundary conditions.

The material properties and boundary conditions are OK. As I said in the question, I think the problem comes from the tie constraint. I don't know which nodes do I have to select for constraint or even the tie constraint is the proper way to bound the shared surfaces or not?

I think a tie constraint is not a proper way to use in your case.
