Hi, has anyone used FSI before?
I have an error (see attached).
I have tried changing parameters, but I still cannot handle this.
"System Coupling run completed with errors. Fluid Flow(Fluent)(Solution 1) reported: Fluent encounter fatal error after sync point Solve:Update-Dynamic_mesh failed.
Negative cell volume detected."
If anyone has ideas, please help.

Can't read your error message and haven't tried this in fluent but had some issues with FSI in comsol a while back that were due to not having a reference point that was fixed in space with no degrees of freedom. It makes sense if you think about it since the problem is undetermined to within an unknown constant otherwise. Hope this helps.

I use dynamic mesh in my model of a bileaflet mechanical heart valve (BMHV) type SJM,the bileaflet mechanical heart valve(BMHV) is moving from angle 25 degree up to 85 degree and the work fluid is water. I load a time-dependent angular velocity to the moving leaflets of BMHV, then, I set the time step 1e-4, and after 2000 steps, the warning is shown: Warning: negative cell volume detected! Error: Update dynamic mesh failed! Error Object. Pleas could tell me what is the problem.

In fluent, for people who use moving or deforming mesh can experience this error.
Negative cell volume detected.
This is because of a cell getting distorted or getting twisted. This can be avoided by using an appropriate remeshing or moving mesh setting. I am sure that for your case your considered degree of freedom in FSI should give you a solution. Say bending of a wing means, you can use smoothing.
For case of Saleem, remeshing can reduce the complexity.
We had encountered similar "Fluent encounter fatal error after sync point Solve:Update-Dynamic_mesh failed.
Negative cell volume detected." error previously for our blast wave interaction with a structure.
After minimizing the mesh to 10 to 5mm and reduce the time step (1e-4), in the Dynamic Mesh Zones dialog box, setting the Fluid Zone set the Dynamic Mesh Zone (fluid) as Deforming type, we can run our model. However the target (structure) must be align with the symmetry (plane) boundary condition (Z axis in our case).
May be worth a try.
