By a show of hands (or statements), how many doctors here, trained exclusively in Western medicine, would take seriously a patient who complains of suffering from side-effects (e.g. localized pain, disrupted muscle function) of eastern self-cultivation exercises (e.g. yoga, qigong). I am assuming that all the relevant tests that you sent him/her for are negative. And my main question is whether you'd believe that the cause of the condition is such eastern self-cultivation exercises. And if so, what would you suggest to such a patient?
