Why is Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) bath deemed to be so effective in healing all sorts of damage to the anal skin? Is there any evidence to back this up? Or at least a theory of why it should work?
Please medical people answer this. I m currently having some minor damage to my anal skin due to which it bleeds whenever i wash with a jetspray after defecation. And this is present for last few months. Please answer this.
This was just a theoretical question. Otherwise, I would suggest trying any good over the counter antibiotic cream. All of them are specifically designed to heal all types of breaks in the skin. My best advice though is this: See a doctor, as it could be something more serious than a simple physical damage to the skin.
Thank you.. Sometimes i get the relief by having milk at night and i leave drinking milk then, but it returns again after some days..is there any biological basis for this? i mean healing by drinking milk.
Good question regarding milk. Milk is known to be effective for neutralizing excess acidity of the stomach. And acidic stool is known to irritate damaged anal skin. So perhaps milk also reduces the acidity of the stool and makes it less irritant to the anal skin. But, either way, we should wait for answers from the experts.
