Which types of natural clays and zeolites are the most effective adsorbents for phenol and PAH?

Many researchers agree that chemically modified clays and synthetic zeolites can be useful treatment for wastewaters polluted by phenol and/or PAH compounds. But which are the best tested natural clay/zeolite minerals for this kind of treatments?

Dear Balázs Benei,

We have used ODTMA clay-micelles complex for the removal of paracetamol (p-acetaminophene) and p-aminophenol and achieved a complete removal.

Other phenol derivatives can be removed by this modified clay.

Attached please find our recent paper utilizing ODTMA clay-micelles complex for the removal of phenols.
