For detect of SNPs you can use sequencing or RLFP that at first you need very simple conventional PCR.

In general as mention researchers above there are many different PCR types and each one have specific uses in the analysis, but if you looking for SNP detection you have also many choices like (RFLP-PCR, ARMS-PCR, HRM-PCR, and SNaPshot -PCR).

To analyse SNP, HRM with unlabeled probe is the best one. It is very robust, fast, 100% accurate, very cheap. However, if you have a lot of SNPs with huge sample size, in that case iPLEX MassARRAY is an another option.
