If your analysis is quite straight forward Excel can be used. It has so many hidden capabilities that many people are not aware of. If you want to do more detailed and thorough analysis of the variables use SPSS from IBM. If your goal is design and analysis of experiments JMP program from SAS can be used.

SPSS software is the most popular statistical program because it is under window application and easy for user, and the beginner need simple training to perform his statistical analysis. The more effective statistical softwares such as R and SAS need more training for users.

I suggest Minitab, but as a free software i would recommend R Software.

You can try Grapher, statistica, Matlab

I used GraphPad Prism and SPSS softwares for data analysis. I recommend the same.

I prefer SAS and SPSS softwares, and my advice to beginner to use SPSS because it need simple training compared with other softwares.

I think SPSS is the best one in this field.

The SPSS program and statistics parameters that fit well matching in a good suitable coordination, for optimal and wright with acceptable correct outcomes for your investigations or studies.

I Prefer the spss program

For basic comfort you can start with excel data package but if you want more deep statistical analysis then for better representation Minitab is best but you can't ignore the power of SPSS too. Both are great to use for day to day statistical analysis. But I will recommend you to learn R because in software like SPSS or Minitab it is quite difficult to manipulate data as per your requirement. As it is bound to give result as per the loaded code structure and it is quite difficult to manipulate code structure until you are a good programmer.

So it is better to learn basics of R and its statistical use. It takes not more than 1 month to understand statistics in R package. In long run once you learn how to use R for statistical analysis; I'm sure you will definitely enjoy it.

For R learning use datacamp.com and register the "Analytics Edge" tutorials in edx.orgfor statistical analysis and for best gain in R programming.

In my research I started to use SPSS but I also had access to Minitab and I found that Minitab for me personally was more user friendly.
