Hello all! I have performed experiments involving two different cell types. These two cell types have been cultured in vitro and measurements have been performed after 4, 7 and 10 days of culture. The two cell types have been treated with a molecule that was added to the cell culture medium, and controls without treatment for each cell type were cultured with non-supplemented cell culture medium. Therefore, I clearly have two factors, which are the time and the treatment, having the time 3 levels (4, 7 and 10 days), and the treatment 2 levels (non-treated and treated). Apart from understanding the effects of these two factors in each of the cell types analyzed, I am willing to compare the response of the two cell types to the above mentioned factors.

As the different cell types are different biological entities, I am not clear if "cell type" should be considered as an additional factor of my experiment. Therefore, I am not clear whether a 3-WAY ANOVA followed by a multiple comparison procedure should be the statistical test of choice, or if I should perform a different statistical analysis.

Thanks a lot on advance for your help and suggestions!

Adrian
