According to your experience, which method of inducing severe acute pancreatitis in a porcine model would you recommend? I have found data regarding intraductal injection of sodium taurocholate or intraductal injection of glycodeoxycholic acid combined with intravenous cerulein administration.
I think that sodium taurocolate intraductal injection is a good and reliable method to induce acute pancreatitis in a porcine model With this method we can even modulate the severety of the disease .
The pancreatitis model was induced by infusing contrast medium (CM) or sodium taurocholate (TCA) under high pressure (100 mmHg) into the main pancreatic duct by endoscopic retrograde pancreatography. Animals were randomly allocated to three groups: a CM group, a 10% TCA group, and a 20% TCA group.
