Which method can I use to quantify Methylglucuronic acid in xylans besides methanolysis process?

I have tried methanolysis process (10mg sample treated with 2ml of 2M methanolic HCl and heated for 3h at 100'C)to quantify sugar release from xylan, but I am not able to observe MeglcA peaks in the HPLC. Please help

Did you look for the dimer GlcA-Xyl, as the bonds involving uronic acids are more resistant to acid cleavage than the "normal" glycosidic bonds?
