04 October 2021 6 3K Report

Hello All,

I have 7 items: 4 positively worded, 3 negative. The 3 negative ones are reverse coded.

EFA on the 7 items returns 2 clean cut factors: 4 items in Factor 1 all positive, 3 items in Factor 2 all negative/reverse coded.

CFA on the same 7 items returns 1 factor with both positive and reverse coded loaded onto a single factor.

EFA and CFA were conducted on entirely separate datasets. All loadings are 0.70 and above.

How do I deal with this?

Can I take one factor with only the 4 positive items?

Any guidance is appreciated.
