I want to do an experiment on these two types of cells (Hacat and Caco 2). I want to know which one needs more time with trypsin to break the peptide bonds.
It is widely known that Caco2 cells are slow and they need weeks to grow , but once they pick up growing they will give a good counting number.Usually, These cells detach eaisly, however if you experience hard time detaching them, I would try using trypsin combined with 2.21 milli molar EDTA.I do not have any information about the other cell line.
HaCaT is a spontaneously transformed aneuploid immortal keratinocyte cell line from adult human skin. It cannot be regarded as cancerous cell line, in fact they are more like immortalised 'normal' non-cancerous cells.
