Has anyone ever tried to use Blue Milk Media (composition: tryptone 10 g/l; dextrose 5 g/l; bromocresol purple 0.04 g/l; yeast extract 1 g/l) as enrichment broth? I would like to know if the growing capability of microorganisms is comparable to those of other broths (e.g. Dextrose Tryptone Broth, Trypton Soy Broth, Linden Grain).

Medium 408 Methylamine Salts Medium 376 Methylene Blue Milk Medium 376, Voges–Proskauer Medium 247, 248 Methylene Blue Milk Medium 227 M-FC are used to culture Methylobacterium mesophilicum. These are also used for differentiation and
presumptive identification of streptococci species (Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus bovis, Streptococcus agalactia, Streptococcus dysgalactia, Streptococcus uberis) .Blue Milk is due to B. cyanogens. It is a small, motile multiflagellated bacillus, which does not liquefy gelatin, but stains the media bluish green.
I think the media was used for identification of some Bacillus spp.
Dears, thanks for your answers. I was wondering if the fertility of the media was as good as those of other broths (such as LG, TSB, etc) because I would like to use it for the recovery of surving microbes after a sterilization process.
Utilisez plutôt un milieu qui permet la différentiation cellules vivante des cellules mortes tel le milieu à l'auramine.
