If at the beginning of human history it was more dangerous to accumulate money in the hands of a few, in the modern world it is more dangerous to conceal a little new knowledge.
Neither money nor scientific knowledge can be accumulated in just few hands, but for very different reasons. Accumulating money is a stupid economic and financial policy. Rich ones accumulate assets making investments, and professionally working people and enterprises are the best assets in the world. Science cannot be kept under the cover, it's disseminated around the world through multiple channels. All countries are striving today to be up to date with advancements in sciences and technologies.
Accumulation of money as well as accumulation of scientific knowledge both leads to greater source of suffering. Considering the two above, accumulation of money in hands of few leads to greater suffering since if money was put to restriction, inflation becomes higher, people will not lead a happier life, they will be forced to work but they do not get what they are ought to get.
Knowledge should be distributed otherwise it is a colossal waste of existence. Money in the hands of few is also unfair to the society. However people can earn money if they have knowledge and are educated. Therefore I rate knowledge more than money.
Hi Muhammad Zubair, this is a very crucial question we need to deal with. I agree with Professor Chuck A Arize that the accumulation of money and scientific knowledge in the hands of the few is the source of suffering. Today both money and scientific knowledge are intermingled together as we submit to the intellectual property right set-up. We made scientific knowledge as a commodity which is subject to a trade or lease deal. Moreover, I believe the accumulation of scientific knowledge in the hands of the few is the greater source of suffering. This accumulation would not only limit access to the use of scientific knowledge but also restrict it's expansion and development.
Accumulation of money & Accumulation scientific knowledge in the hand of few are both is essential for caring out the activities of that action for the progressive pathway .
Scientific research also requires money & in other cases money is the hand of few are equally essential not only for the personal growth but it carries the services in an a indirect manner for the social fabrication
Accumulation of money in the hands of few has led to serious income inequality and this has a direct effect on suffering. The effect of scientific knowlege is highly minimal
I think, this question is a trap for people with elevated sensitivity to various types of inequality they faced in life. Accumulating money in the hands of few - it is a totally undefined condition. Whose hands it is? It could be individual people, or it could be banks, or it could by governments' budgets, or it could be country treasuries, or it could be big rich industrial giants, etc.. The history of mankind doesn't know any time where the money, resources, or wealth in general could be equally distributed between all people, or countries, or various unions - it's an economic, political, and social utopia.
Accumulation of the scientific knowledge in the hand of few - is another unreal, and undefined condition. Who are those 'few' - different individuals, or different companies, or different countries, or different political/economic unions? Which ways they could accumulate knowledge - it is published world wide and absolutely available in books, articles, reports, congresses, meetings, libraries, etc..
Yes, there is a lot of inequalities in life, but their consideration require a lot of education, knowledge, and research in mitigating or eliminating their bad consequences, instead of such provocative questions misleading people. In order to fight and achieve better life people have to know very well where are the roots of the problems, instead of giving them cheap, fake, fuzzy, and little understood general statements, while not providing any clear, and tested alternative.
Accumulation of knowledge by few will still benefit everyone as it will somehow be applied by the few for the betterment of the society. However, accumulation of money by a few will turn them to egoistic monsters.
