I compared the genotoxicity of four compounds (metal complexes of an organic compound) with the positive control. Most studies utilized Student's T-test. What I have in mind is ANOVA with post hoc Tukey HSD. Which is more appropriate?
I agree with Abdual. The diferrence is that if you like to analyze onlyntwo groups you could use T-student test bit when you want to know the difference between several groups ANOVA is the best choice
Since you want to compare between four different treatments, it is better to use ANOVA followed by Tukey or Dunette's post hoc test, provided that the observations come from normal distribution and the variance of each treatment group are the same.
