Most human glioblastoma cell lines make abundant TGF-b2. As previously reported, we found that TGF-b2 isoform also accounts for 85% of total TGF-b produced by the murine glioma cell line, GL261, grown either in monolayer or neurosphere
conditions, as determined by isoform-specific neutralizing antibodies and biological assay for TGFb (Hardee et al. Cancer Res DOI:10.1158/0008-5472.CAN-12-0546)
Airway smooth muscle cells express TGFB2. Refer to this recent abstract from the labs of Tang, Mitzner, etc... (Johns Hopkins) from last years meeting of the American Thoracic Society for more information. I am not sure what the optimal conditions are for TGFB2 expression although based upon the cited abstract, I believe airway smooth muscle express a decent amount of TGFB2 under untreated conditions. If needed I can refer you to some labs that have immortalized airway smooth muscle cells that would probably work well for your studies. Which miRNAs are you interested in Marpe?
