I am working on genes silencing, i got FANA kit from AUMbiotech.com , it's lyophilized vial, read a lot of were i should store this type of substance, before i add any buffer on it were is the best condition i should store in it, i found 2 answers, should store it in -20 C, other answer says it's ok in room temperature, as a lyophilized material the best temperature i should store it in, and wont affect or give me different results, long term store before using it ?

It is better to keep the lyophilized oligos in -20C for long term storage.
Dear Malak, freeze drying or lyophilization is used to preserve a material for long or simply to increase its shelf life, as it is in dried form with no moisture in it so can survive for long, but still a dry powder or dry pellet definitely has some susceptibility towards temperature shifts of its storage point, which may damage or alter the product present inside.
And in oligos case, whenever a long term storage is concerned you should store in -20 C. At 4C, either in lyophilized form or in resuspended form with any suitable buffer (like 1x TE) the oligos maintain their stability for around a year or so. But in the case of fridge storage, they should not have any exposure with light for long, especially the UV spectrum, as it may harm these oligos, as some lab fridges have glass doors allowing ambient light to enter for the whole time.
Their short term storage for few days at room temperature away from ambient light exposure in the lyophilized (freeze-dried) form is also fine provided that the room temperature does not fluctuate much due to any malfunction and you need to be sure about it.
