Syed S. Hasnain If a mouse would do, I am unclear if there are mirroring anotomical regions in human and mouse with this organ, then you could try looking in the online mouse histology atlas.

If this will not work I recommend reaching out to Blaise Ndjamen at Gladstone Institute’s Histology & Microscopy Core. They may be able to put you in touch with people doing research on this or the correct place to harvest this tissue for histology. I used to work in this lab and Dr. Ndjamen is very knowledgable about all things histology.
Erin Denny I believe that if the neuro-retinal rim concept was correct, then I should have found an optic disc histology depicting the ‘donut’ appearance. I still have not come across any such image in the textbooks during my 60 years in ophthalmology. Thank you for the helpful information. I appreciate your kind response.
