Do you do PCR for Giardia? If so, where do you buy your positive control for your PCR from? I am using a protocol for Giardia PCR from a published article, but I do not have a positive control to make sure the primers are working.

If you can't have DNA, I suggest using a Giardia positive stool sample that you can get from any lab doing copro-parasitology.

Align your forward and reverse primers with reference Giardia DNA sequence and identify the target binding region. Now you can copy your target sequence with some extra bases on both forward and reverse primer binding sites and order that sequence to be inserted into a "Plasmid" to make positive control. You may order plasmid control from IDT or Eurofins or GenScript etc.
Or, you can use Giardia positive DNA as a PCR control, albeit plasmid control is better.
I believe you can purchase Giardia DNA from ATCC

The above link is to quantified DNA so good to go for qPCR standards.
