Refering to section '18.5.3 Concrete damaged plasticity' in the ABAQUS manual, there is a parameter L0 for cracked damage. Can you output this value?
I am getting warnings about negative increases in plastic crack width, when my damage parameters should not be causing this. I suspect it is because I am using the wrong L0 in my calculation, but I cannot find which value ABAQUS is using.
L_0 is a characteristic length that depends on the mesh size, I think that abaqus calculates it automatically. I dont know how you calculate the crack width because this model is a smeared crack model, you can identifie crakcs by integrating the tension damage variable but its not related to the L_0 parameter
I'm not sure if you can get the width of the cracks (probably yes). But believes that the plasticity model is only an approximation and the results are highly dependent on the quality of the mesh.
How much precision in the mechanical properties do we have?
What you get with Abaqus is a pattern fails, an idea of the behavior, the most vulnerable areas, but I do not recommend using such detailed results.
