try hydrogen sulphide, low doses may work. There is a narrow range before it becomes toxic
You can also try blocking the proteasome with an inhibitor like MG132. It works fine.
Drugs such as Etoposide and cisplatin work well. However most drugs will also cause cell death. It's a bit of a balance. A dose response experiment will allow you to choose a dose which sets the balance in favour of senescence. It's also worth thinking about the timescale of the experiment. For compounds such as Etoposide the markers of senescence appear after a few days. Drugs like Etoposide and cisplatin and indeed radiation are genotoxic and it's really worth trying a few non-genotoxic drugs such as kinase inhibitors. These may have a less toxic effect.
