Is anyone doing laser capture microdissection using the Zeiss Palm microbeam instrument? If so, do you have an alternate (non-Zeiss) source for 500uL adhesive caps?
We have discovered that these are no longer available through Zeiss/Fisher Scientific and are looking for an alternative supplier.
Any help gratefully received.

I have identified an alternative to the 200-microliter adhesive cap that worked for me. I used 200 microliter (BIO-RAD, 0.2 ml tubes, Catalog # TWI0201) individual PCR tubes for individual neuron/astrocyte collection using Zeiss LCM. Before individual cell collection, I added 2 microliters of lysis buffer (which I use for cell lysis before PCR) to the cap. This converts the normal cap to an adhesive cap. Any form of water (e.g., ultrapure, distilled) as an alternative to lysis buffer will not serve the purpose because of the surface tension differences between the liquids. The individual cell collection success was 100%. Apart from this individual cell collection, all other experimental procedures should follow your established protocols. I just checked the BIO-RAD website. They have 500-microliter PCR tubes too. You can have a trial with that tube.
