When we use the spectrophotometer to measure the color of the samples ,there are two modes , one is Specular Component Included（SCI） , and another mode is Specular Component Excluded （SCE）， so when we measure the samples ,which mode should we select , and will the different modes effect the experiment ?
First of all, different modes will affect the experiment, and different modes need to be selected according to different experimental purposes. Specular Component Include , that is, when the instrument is measured and calculated, the influence of the reflected light is counted, and the calculated color is not affected by its gloss, that is, the true color. When studying the relationship between coral color and pigment content, it is required. Exclude gloss effects, use real colors, and choose to the Specular Component Include mode . Specular Component Exclude, that is, when the instrument is measured and calculated, the influence of the reflected light is not counted, and the color containing the influence of the gloss is calculated, which is affected by the gloss, that is, closer to the visual color, in my coral When the color is graded, the quality of the polish will affect the color of the color. It is necessary to use the visual color and use the Specular Component Exclude mode.
Specular Component Included means minimizing the influence of sample surface, which is suitable for color quality monitoring and computer color matching. It reflects the color of sample material and has nothing to do with the surface condition of sample.As for Specular Component Excluded，the results measured are similar to those observed by naked eyes, and the influence of sample surface condition and texture is considered. If the color is analyzed independently, choose SCI, and if the overall evaluation of the sample involves luster and color, choose SCE.
The spectrophotometer has two type：one type is oriented and the other typeuse diffuse reflection.
The diffuse reflection also has two mode：
Specular Component Included （SCI）and Specular Component Excluded （SCE）
- SCE Mode is more useful to the glossy samples.
