When analysing microRNAs by RT-PCR, do you need to check the quality of microRNA sample using agarose gel electrophoresis?

I have extracted microrna from my samples using a kit from Qiagen however several literature have shown that RNA quality needs to be checked before proceeding to cDNA synthesis. Do I need to do this for microRNA as well?
