I am new to primary cell culture and I'll be working with chicken-derived dendritic cells. I'll be using GM-CSF and IL-4 to induce their maturation in 6-well plates with RPMI-1640 media. I would like to know what's the recommended volume for media in 6-well plates? and also what's the recommended volume for GMCSF and IL4 on 6 well plates when doing cell culture?

Hi Keila,
In general, you will also have to consider on the number of days which you are going to incubate your cells in the incubator as a longer incubation period may eventually lead to your media dried up if it's too little. I would usually add 2-3mL in total when I am using 6-well plates.
