It is quite common that in visual servoing literature, authors use the term Interaction Matrix to refer to the Jacobian Matrix.
I still don't entirely understand the need to use such special terminology, considering that (to my knowledge) all the other disciplines simply call this standard matrix of partial derivatives a Jacobian Matrix.
Can anyone share some thoughts on this issue?

It is exactly the same thing, since Visual Servoing (VS) is providing velocity commands to the robot from the observation of the points position in the space either 3D as in Position Based Visual Servoing (PBVS) or 2D as in Image Based Visual Servoing (IBVS) then it is doing derivative of that positions to give velocities.
