What would be right (to be ideal or Potential) concentration (ug/ml) of a plant crude drug extract at 50% inhibition (IC50) values against MCF-7 human breast cancer cell lines?
I have red an article there
"The American National cancer institute guidelines set the limit of activity for crude drug extracts at 50% inhibition (IC50) of proliferation of less than 30ug/ml, after exposure time of 72 hours."
But My plant extracts given IC50 (ug/ml) values above 160ug/ml after exposure time of 48 hours.
Are these results good? Can go for publication with these results?

Each drug has its own inhibitory concentration, so you need to set a concentration gradient based on your own drug to find out the IC50. The concentration mentioned in the literature is for reference only.

If your result is ambiguous in concentration, I suggest you adding conventional drug as positive control and comparing the IC50 between your extract and conventional drug. That would make the cytotoxic potential more easily to observe.
Also, you can use the extraction rate to converting the effective amount of original material. That could help you determining the plant you study is potential or not.
This needs to be tested in respective experimental series; depends on the drug.
