I am performing solid state fermentation using aspergillus niger to produce citric acid. I have inoculated aspergillus niger spores in the culture media but I am also observing white growth.I want to know which microorganism is this? And,what are the appropriate pretreatments so that I can overcome this problem.

It is the "vegetative" part of the fungus, without spores. It is normal...

I agree with Nikolay it looks as Aspergillus niger mycellium so don’t worry
Dear Mr. Markad: Normally when use Aspergillus niger the spores which are formed re-germinated and hence you have the vegetative mycelium seen as white cottony growth. You may also get occasionally few bacterial cells grow depends on the raw material/s used and type of air being circulated. You may sample the raw material and check the presence of various microbes during solid state process.
I agree with opinion, that it is a vegetative form of fungus. But I recommend to sample white m,ycelium and perform determination what is it.
