I used Spe1 and BamH1 restriction enzymes. Why is the 1st band smeared?

I used Spe1 and BamH1 restriction enzymes for checking presence of plasmid in EP1 300 strain. It had a 40kb insert size. I have got faint bands at 6kbp and at 2kbp. But the first band is smeared. I have attached the images below.Any explanation for this would be really helpful.Thanks in advance.
