I am making lentivirus for stable cell line production and was wondering what syringe filter membrane materials people have successfully used in their experience? I read a question where someone answered that they have used polyethersulfone but I was wondering about other materials, particularly nylon and PVDF.

I'm using Acrodisc Syringe Filters with Supor Membrane from Pall or Millex-HV Syringe Filter Unit with PVDF membrane. Both are working well.
You have many options depending on your serum concentration, and processing volume, and device hold up volume. Typically the PES Express Plus membranes provide faster flow due to assymetry structure of membrane, but the Durapore PVDF versions work better if there is low serum concentrations (media pluggs membrane surface and harder/slower to process). Another note is that with the 0.45um versions, this is clarification only; whereas, the 0.2um versions are considered "sterilizing grade."
Based on this, I am showing you some of the options for you to choose from (MilliporeSigma catalog numbers shown and more information can be see at web site: emdmillipore.com): Note that I have use all of these with success with Lentivirus
Durapore PVDF: Yes, indeed the 0.45um Millex HV syringe filters (Cat. SLHV033RS) can be used to clarify lentivirus and 0.2um Millex GV syringe filters (Cat. SLGV033RS) for sterilizing.
PES Express Plus (PES): Use for faster flow (0.2um Millex GP, Cat. SLGP033RS, 0.45um Millex HP Cat. SLHP033RS).
If larger processing volumes are needed, other formats available in vacuum type devices:
Up to 50 mL:
Steriflip with Durapore PVDF: 0.45um HV Cat. SE1M003M00 and 0.2um GV Cat. SE1M179M6.
Steriflip with PES Express Plus: 0.2um GP Cat. SCGP00525, note no 0.45um
Up to 1L: Use Stericup filter units (search on Stericup on web site).
Volumes < 2 mL all with 0.2um GV Durapore PVDF: Use Ultrafree MC (0.5 mL cat. UFC30GV0S ) & Ultrafree CL (2 mL Cat. UFC40GV0S)
