I want to scan my experimental mice bone samples using micro CT instrument. I have gone through several research articles for ideal scanning parameters like voltage, current, filter etc. but these parameters are differ from article to article. So how to decide the ideal scanning parameters for my bone samples and how these parameters affect the image quality?

we are scanning our mouse bones with 50 kV, 200 mA, a 0.5 mm aluminium filter and a voxel resolution of 8 µm. Good luck with your scans!

It really depends on which instrument you are using and what information you wish to get from the 3D data.
For instance on a Nikon 225 HMS-XT we would use 140-160kv 180mA, maybe with a copper filter or no filter.
To see how the settings affect the results, I would recommend testing out a few settings based on the recommendations of your imaging specialist. Then visually assessing the results and possibly quantitatively if you are planning density analysis with a standard/phantom.
