What separation method would be suitable to purify my material and stay only with the interest product (CMC / CTAB / SMO aggregates), I need to select only the aggregates to do the drug charge, some friends suggested to me Gel Filtration Chromatography GPC, also I tried with permeable membrane but it didn't work.
Please add more detail to get help from others. What is you material BTW?
Without knowing what your material is and also the process at the end of which it is available, I am afraid you'll not get any useful answers. I ditto Ananda's response.
Use GPC if you want to separate your compounds according to molecular size. I agree with Dr. Kaufman, please elaborate on your premise. Better yet identify your materials and the meaning of the acronyms.
thank you everyone, the material are aggregates of polymer carboxymethyl celulose (CMC) and surfactant cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and metal oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4), which stay stable by electrostatic attraction. I use water as a solvent, and obtain my material by in situ synthesis, used a reflux reactor and thermal decomposition of urea and FeCl2 and FeCl3 to form the Fe3O4 nanoparticles. At the end I have the aggregates and some residual salts.
I often use ultracentrifugations to wash out free molecules from nanoparticles. Otherwise GPC or ultrafiltration. If you want to separate aggregates and free molecules, these methods are recommendable.
GPC is suitable but if your sample can pass 0.2 Micron filtration first. Because in GPC, the main problem is the fitration of the sample before taking for GPC.
You can use FPLC to separate the materials in your samples. However, before that, you must use some non specific steps such as centrifugation (high speed recommended) and dialysis to remove non specif materials.
