Human beings invent from the facts Models, then we try to solve the problem in that Model. But necessarily the Fact and the Model does not fully adopt, and usually new experiences shows the old Models does not work.The Models are vulnerable to new experiences. That is the first type of difficulties.
Even in the case that Models work well, we will have theoretical and Mathematical problems, as the second type of obstacles.
For example in Physics, no problem is answered really and in a perfect absolute way.The theories will be changed, or more precisely there is no guarantee for the answers that is acceptable now will be accepted in future.
More specifically, the question of " Is there an endpoint for the chain of Theories one after another to explain the world?"
seems will be never answered.
In the second place are maybe, Consciousnesses, Hard Problems, The reality of Time, Is everything just illusion or not,... .Could be good candidates.
In a paradoxical way we have another question:
"Is there any question in science can not and will never be answered (Your question) for sure?"
probably answered itself.
To raise good questions is better than the answers themselves.
We think about some scientific phenomenon and start asking to reach a well understanding of it. Logical proofs based on some axioms may help to judge if the answer is true or wrong. In case the proof is not available, scientists try to create and guess answers called conjectures. Conjecture is an answer without proof. It waits for a genius scientist to prove or disprove that answer.
All the time we give answers for any question, but the main point: is it the right answer?

'Science' is absolutely 'Limited' or 'Finite' & based on assumptions
Science reduces 'Human Actions' via 'Technology' resulted loss of certain values as effective control of human race by 'Artificial Intelligence' implicitly panic via 'Artificial Intelligence' by 'Artificial Intelligence'
Could "Artificial Intelligence" understand "Justice" and "Emotion" such as love or friendship, indeed? AI is virtually impossible to understand spiritual well-being of human-beings because such a high-level of sublimation and transcendentalization cannot be manipulated by mathematical programmings.
Claire, I think I can explain spirituality-simply as the mind/brain extending itself. This I suspect is a peculiar quality of human beings which is reducible but not without losing its components. it seems to assume pleasurable activations that a person becomes absorbed in but as said externalised.
But, yes its essence is lost through such explanations.

There is of course a difference between correctly answered and proven. I would consider an answer that is both possible and the most plausible to constitute provisional solution.
"Why are we here?" Is answered to my satisfaction. Given the universe, the first cause(s) of us are known and there does not appear to be a final cause. If we really mean why is the universe here, we can see that it is a possibility because it is, and there is no absolute need to justify it "being" "here," only a compulsion of certain brainy planetary organisms to ask Why and expect that an answer exists.
