N-linked glycosylation can be removed from proteins by treatment with PNGase F. I don't know how well this works with live cells, but if your goal is to remove the carbohydrates, rather than the whole proteins, it might be something to try.

Cells can be treated with trypsin or other non-specific proteases (e.g. proteinase K, chymotrypsin, subtilisin) to digest surface proteins. This effect would not be limited to glycoproteins. Trypsin treatment is often used to dislodge adherent cells from the growth surface to split the culture, so this treatment is survivable.

Could try some inhibitors:

A number of inhibitors have been described that block glycosylation by interfering with the metabolism of common precursors or intracellular transport activities.
