As it is known that H antigen is lacked in "hh" group. Intrigued to know the differences if any in sugar moiety between the O group (H, the master type) and Bombay blood (HH).
Dear it is because Bombay Blood Group will not have antigen A and antigen B, so scientists will think that it belongs to blood group O unless blood sample is made to test against H antigen, Bombay blood group doesn't contain H antigen too but people with blood type O contains H antigen.
Dear When A, B , & H antigen are absent on RBC than person is of Bombay Blood Group . Bombay group RBC has Antigen I Because Of Resesive hh gene I is unable to convert into H .
Dear, Bombay individuals are hh and cannot add fucose to the base substance, therefore they cannot produce antigens A and/or B. The difference between a Bombay and a group O is the presence of an anti-H antibody in Bombay subjects and an H antigen in O.
