I am always happy when I hear of how my products (students who pass out) are excelling in their chosen professions. I am so elated that sometimes when I chance into their company amidst a myriad of people, they sound praises and deep appreciation for what I have done for them, how my training has improved and made them successful. One truant student whom I shown interest in him by appointing him as my class representative surprisingly pulled up and became one of the hot fires in the educational institution. At an awards ceremony asking how he turned a new leaf he said: 'Sir Dickson never gave up on me and here I am.' Is this not the utmost joy that comes from our work as teachers? Of course it is. I am always joyous within me, though may not be noticed from my countenance, when I found out that students that passed through my tutelage are doing beautifully well outside the University environment. It gives me joy that my Labour of love wasn't a fruitless effort.

My focus is teacher happines in Turkey. I am about to finish my dissertation about it..

And I ask the same questions here... WE have many different replies. Here is my own: 

It depends mostly on internal factors and characteristics. For me, the most influential and significant factor that makes me happy at work is that eudaimonic commitment. I define myself 'a man of values'. :) I do not care much about the material outcomes. When I enter my offie, I always look at my colleagues' eyes and shape of their lips. Good evening, I hope to be satisfy with your job and happy with it.

   I think happiness with every job depends on 2 factors, the first one is the satisfaction with your job and accommodate well with it and the second factor you must take the simplicity in dealing  with your job. So I think many professors lack one of these 2  factors or both of them while the simple persons behave and take the life in a simple manner.

    For me I am so happy if I feel my students and my patients are getting benefit  from my knowledge.

What make you happy in your life job?

It is interesting to see that some rich / successful people are not happy with their works whereas some poor / low income people are enjoying their jobs very much.  A person's surrounding environment can impact his / her happiness in work / job e.g. salary, workload, colleagues etc.  But think the person's value system is also playing an important role in influencing happiness in work / job e.g. self-discipline, commitment, contentment, moral values etc.

In my own past experience of research life, I found happiness when finding a new scientific result, how small it might have been, rather than when getting money, title, authority, etc. These days researchers and teachers, I think, are too busy getting research funds or fulfilling duties to feel happiness.

V thought provoking question...As per my job profile...I am.v happy when I explain something to the kids n they understand it  which can be easily read by seeing at their face.when the kids come up with the application aspect of the concept that makes me more happy..

Simple Rule! Involving oneself in the job without thinking about others, having integrity and commitment towards organisation leads to happiness. Self satisfaction and interest for lifelong learning are other important factors that greatly help in enjoying happy life job.

People with a high need for achievement they get satisfied or happiness by fulfilling personal responsibilities for performing a task, accomplishing personal accomplishments and by fulfilling challenging tasks.

Only people who work and create, who achieve positive results useful for both workers - creators and for the people they are dedicated to, can have a sense of satisfaction. It can be said that the pursuit of happiness is a great reach for achieving a sense of satisfaction.Because happiness can not be given, it can not be taken, nor can it have, and only rarely and briefly can be felt.

To each patient I helped, to each student and young colleague whom I learned and helped them to be independent in their work, any research I participated in and whose results were even the smallest positive shift in a complex and demanding medical science, made me to be satisfied. If in the end I say that I do the things I love, that people from my surroundings turn to me for advice and help, to give them to many without any material compensation because I do not consider money as the source of happiness but only necessary necessities, I could conclude that in my previous life I also had the lucky circumstances to enjoy my work and that this work was the source of my life satisfaction.
