There is a tremendous variation in the infecitivity of phages within species. When a spot test with phages are performed i can encounter six different lysis pattern namely A. Complete lysis, B. Turbid lysis, C. No Lysis, D. Lysis with white colony, E. Lysis with minute bacterial colonies, F. Lysis with individual plaques. Can someone explain this phenomenon with paper reference. I have attached the image for each of this .
if you sure there is no contamination ,thats could be mutant type of the bacteria
These are all for the same phage infecting the same specie?
Do you know exactly what type of phage you are using?
I would suggest A, D and E present patterns of lytic cycle in which D and E are resistant mutant colonies forming . The B,C and F patterns made me question your phage life cycle because the turbidity has you described is usually co-related to temperate phages.
