Xanthomonadin is the pigment that is produced by the genus Xanthomonas. It is responsible for the yellow colour of the bacteria. This pigment has a major role in protecting the pathogen from harmful rays. The presence of the pigment is one of the confirmatory tests for the pathogen. When referring to the paper, the absorption maximum was between 441-444.7, but when I did, I got a peak at 447 and 448nm. How should I analyse this result?
