I visit the atcc web page but there isnt any information about the origin of hct116 cell line. Is there anyone who know more abote the origine of this cell line
Hello I have been working on different type of colon-carcinoma cells including HCT116. As you mentioned is not reported the Duke type of HCT116 on ATCC site but looking for papers most of them classified HCT116 as a type A (however, there are papers with HCT116 type D too). This could be explained by the fact that there are different strains of HCT116 isolated from the same person. Try to write ATCC asking what is the stage they have.
I guess you refer to the colon cancer cell line: HCT 116, I read (but don´t remember where) that this cell line has a Dukes D grade. The cell line was generated from of a primary isolate from a man, the cell line is tumorigenic in nude mice and form colonies is soft agar assays
Hope this will be helpful
best regards

It seems that this question is not active anymore... but I was looking into the same and found the paper describing the creation of the HCT116 cell line.
