In our lab we are using the Atlas Suntest CPS+ (with the IR and UV special glass filters) for the evaluation of photoprotection of sunscreens. We would like to convert the radiation doses that we use into Standard Erythema Dose.
I understand that by measuring the irradiance at each wavelength and weighing this to the erythema spectral we should be able to make the conversion. However, we don’t have access to a radiometer and for this reason I wanted to know how much time should we irradiate using the maximum irradiance of the equipment (765w/m2) to give a dose of 1 SED.
